Strategy for Deuces Wild
The more you play Deuces Wild the more you’ll develop your own skills and tactics, but the pointers below should get you started on the right foot.
- If you get 4 Deuces, hold all 5 cards
- If you get 3 Deuces, hold all 5 cards or exchange the 2 that are not Deuces
- If you get 2 Deuces, exchange the other 3 cards or keep any of the 4 cards to a Royal Flush. If the hand with the 2 Deuces creates a 4 of a Kind hand or better, hold those cards
- With 1 Deuce, keep any 3 of a Kind or better cards and of the 4 cards to a Royal Flush, 4 cards to a Straight Flush, 3 cards to a Royal Flush or 3 cards to a Straight Flush if the other 2 cards are suited connectors. Otherwise, keep the Deuces only
If you have no Deuces, hold the highest-paying hand. However, if you have a known lower-paying hand don’t any of the 4 cards to a Royal Flush. Without Deuces, hold the following:
- Any 3 cards to a Royal Flush
- Any 4 cards to a Straight Flush
- A 4-card Flush
- Any 2 Pair if the Full House pays the same as 4 of a Kind
- A 4-card Straight
- 3 Cards to a Straight Flush
- Any Pair, unless you’re a card shy of a Straight or Flush
